Basic HIV Online Training

Welcome to ID Online Training!

This course will provide an understanding of HIV disease and it’s treatment.

The course consists of six (6) modules, developed by Infectious diseases physicians and Family medicine specialist. Participants will be asked to answer a couple of short questions at the end of each topic. After successful completion of all the modules you will be issued a certificate.

Participants can join-in at their convenience and select the modules in the order they desire. Participants should plan on spending 60-90 min per module.

Please go through the modules and complete the quiz at the end of each module.
The quizzes require a FULL score in order to pass. However, references will be given for incorrect answers and you can attempt the questions again.

COURSE OBJECTIVES

By the end of the course you should be able to:

Diagnose HIV confidently
Screen patients for opportunistic infections before initiating ART
Be familiar with recommendations for ART initiation
Be familiar with commonly used ART and its side effects
Have a basic understanding of virological failure, clinical failure and immunological failure
Understand the HIV care cascade concept and to seek, test, treat and retain patients
